Sunday, October 16 is National Feral Cat Day

Pet Rescue has been committed to helping control the population of feral cats in the Westchester area for many years by running a TNR program. This program involves trapping feral cats TNRand bringing them to our Pet Rescue Clinic where they are spayed/neutered and given all necessary vaccines; after recovery they are released back to their environment or those who are friendly may be adopted into homes. Over the last 2-1/2 years our clinic has vetted 723 feral TNRcats at a cost of approximately $100 per cat. To date, this service has been provided free of charge.TNR

Pet Rescue gets calls daily to assist with spay/neuter services for Westchester's feral and stray community cats and kittens. As Pet Rescue is a private rescue organization, we do not receive any government funding and rely solely on the generosity of our wonderful donors. In order to continue all of our other programs to rescue, foster, provide veterinary care and re-home cats and dogs, while maintaining our newly renovated facility, we unfortunately can no longer provide TNR as a free service. With that said, we are now launching a "Pet Rescue TNR Fund" to fund our efforts to help stabilize the feral cat population within our community. We hope you will make a donation to enable us to continue this important work.
